Hi, I'm Judge Genocide from Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland. I live ten minutes' walk away from genocide, and I don't say that lightly. Raytheon is one of the top two weapons companies in the world, and they have a factory in my town. As a citizen, I do not consent to having a factory that provides weapons of mass destruction built here or anywhere.

I have been to protests twice since the 2014 massacre in Gaza, the prison city in occupied Palestine. People come and protest, but I live here knowing that once they leave, I am still here with genocide next door.

So I wanted to do something that wouldn't get me jailed, but would highlight the genocide next door at Raytheon Technologies. One Saturday morning, I got some ketchup and went down to Raytheon and sprayed it all over the company sign. The arms trade is a multi-billion dollar industry that is responsible for a significant amount of death and misery around the world. Companies like Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing are some of the biggest players in the arms trade, and they have a long history of selling weapons to regimes that have used them to commit human rights abuses and even genocide.

For example, Raytheon sold cluster bombs to the Saudi Arabian-led coalition that has been bombing Yemen, and these bombs have killed and maimed thousands of civilians. Lockheed Martin sold fighter jets to the Indonesian government, which used them to bomb East Timor in the 1990s, killing an estimated 200,000 people. And Boeing sold helicopters to the Rwandan government, which used them to transport troops during the 1994 genocide, in which an estimated 800,000 people were killed.

But at present time Palestine is being genocided and if Raytheon is involved in this, well we have laws in Scotland supplying Arms that will be used to kill civilians is not legal.

Under the Arms Export Control Act 2002, it is an offence to export arms if the exporter knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the arms "may be used in the commission of genocide, a crime against humanity, or a war crime." This applies to all arms exports, regardless of the destination country.

You can also report the matter to the Scottish Government, which has a responsibility to promote human rights and prevent genocide. The Scottish Government may be able to use diplomatic channels to pressure the business to stop supplying arms to the relevant country.

These are just a few examples of the many ways in which weapons sales contribute to death and misery around the world. The arms trade is a major driver of conflict, and it fuels violence and instability. It also leads to the deaths of innocent civilians, who are often caught in the crossfire of armed conflict.

In addition to the human cost, weapons sales also have a negative impact on the environment. The production of weapons requires the use of a variety of resources, including precious metals, oil, and water. This can lead to environmental degradation, and it can also contribute to climate change.
